About the Role: With minimal supervision, conducts field investigations and office activities as part of the summer bathing beach program. Job duties include collection of water samples at beaches for bacteriological analysis and office and lab activities relative to the program and other tasks as assigned.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or medical/religious exemption within 30 days of hire. If not fully vaccinated, you must follow the requirements for unvaccinated until you meet the definition of fully vaccinated. 

Scheduled Hours: 37.5 hours a week

• M - F (8:00am-4:30pm)

Essential Functions:

• Conducts, under prescribed methods, environmental inspections or collects samples as required.
• Assists in laboratory activities in support of the preparation and analysis of environmental samples.
• Prepares documentation for samples collected.
• Assists in office activities in support of the preparation and analysis of environmental samples, including data entry.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required:

• Some knowledge of inspections, sampling and laboratory analysis applicable to environmental assessments.
• Ability to be empathetic, cordial and friendly when working with people.
• Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and files.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use a computer.  Some knowledge of PC operations and software (Word processing and spreadsheet) is required.  
• A valid driver’s license is required.
