Supervisor of Land and Water Resources

The City of Springfield — The Office of Public Utilities, Water Division is seeking an individual to plan, organize and implement projects to maintain and enhance the raw water quality of Lake Springfield. Supervise Department of Land & Water Resources staff and direct technical activities relating to watershed protection, erosion control, marginal land use, shoreline protection, water quality monitoring, bridge maintenance, and development of alternate water supplies. Manage the City's property within the Hunter Lake project area and sediment retention area. Assist other City departments as needed with program development on water quality issues related to NPDES stormwater permit compliance.

This position requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college and receipt of a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree with courses in sciences, environmental studies, or engineering and five years experience in the environmental field with five years supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid Class D driver's license is also required.

Current employees (where applicable) and persons hired or rehired after 1-1-17 shall maintain their bona fide residence within the corporate limits of the city during all periods of service. Newly hired or rehired employees have 12 months from date of hire to establish city residency.

MINIMUM STARTING RATE: $5,589.46 MONTHLY Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
